Many art therapists work with clients whose lives are affected by adoption or foster care. Some clients may have been adopted as infants, or they may have lived in foster care throughout childhood. Other clients may include birthparents or adoptive parents. Art therapists who practice family therapy may also be likely to work with adoption and foster care issues.
